First Chinese Baptist Church of Dallas

English Ministry

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to ABIDE with Jesus Christ. In fact, this was one of the final instructions that He gave to His disciples in John 15 before going to the cross. But what does it really mean to abide in Christ? And more importantly, how do we abide in Him?

In this series, we will be exploring what it means to ABIDE. Our hope and prayer as we look at various passages in God's Word, starting with the words of Jesus in John 15, is that we would both desire and grow as followers of Jesus as we learn what it means to abide in Him. We hope you'll join us for this series and consider inviting a friend or neighbor to join as well.

Even the most mature believers face dark nights of the soul. During those times, God often feels distant, His Word seems dry, and the vibrant intimacy we once knew before seems absent leaving us wondering, "Where is the Lord in all this?" This isn't an abnormal question for Christians to ask and for believers to wrestle with. It could even be a time where God, in His grace, is desiring for us to draw nearer to Him.

Starting on Sunday, January 21, we will be going through a video teaching study through Psalm 119 with Matt Chandler. In this study we will examine the words of King David who experienced similar seasons of life, and who often wrestled with the same question. Serving as the anchor for the study, Psalm 119 demonstrates the power of God’s Word in the lives of believers and its ability to provide a warm blanket for the soul. Join us on Sundays at 9:45am as we study through this incredible Psalm together.

The goal of our Community Groups is to create a predictable small group environment where participants experience authentic community and spiritual growth. We believe that true and sustained life change happens best in the context of a structured relationship. Out of rows and into circles. And the best expression of these relationships is found in the small group ministry.

Community Groups are where real life and real issues are discussed and shared. It’s a safe environment where we celebrate the successes and good times of life, as well as comfort one another during the tough and disappointing times. It’s also a place to be encouraged, equipped, and challenged to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. We are planning to launch new Community Groups in September 2016.
